As previously reported on Fox14:
The city of El Paso has put the historic Albert B. Fall mansion up for sale.
As previously reported, the mansion was built in 1907 by one of New Mexico’s first senators, Albert Fall, and was taken over by the city due to neglect by the previous owner.
The city spent $1.2 million on renovations, and the house is on a Texas group’s list of endangered historic places.
According to the El Paso Times, the city is trying to sell the vacant mansion after spending just under $2 million several years ago to buy and renovate it.
It was leased for offices to Texas Tech Health El Paso, but it’s been vacant for the last four years.
Sadly, the mansion remains in a state of disrepair.
And this, after the city spent just over 2 million dollars to purchase the property and make renovations. Given the age of the building and the fact that it has remained vacant for more than four years, one wonders what the ultimate fate of the building, and property, will be.
